Warwickshire's talented youngster's were both on cue to help their respective England sides retain their European 8 - ball Championship Titles.

Rob Butterworth was in dazzling form for the England Under 21's with Phil Parkin outstanding for England under 18's.

Meanwhile the England Under 18's had stormed through to the semi-finals winning all their qualifying comfortably. But any thoughts of them strolling to the title were soon dispelled as their Semi final opponents Wales started superbly and in no time had gone 6 - 4 up. This was the first time England had been put under any real pressure. How would they cope? Brilliantly!! They took four in a row to win 10 - 6 and book a place in the final against Scotland. The final started badly for England as Scotland turned on the style to gain the early advantage going 4 - 2 up. But England dug deep again to take six frames in a row and run out 8 - 4 winners.

Phil was simply outstanding in the team event winning a staggering 15 frames out of 15 for a 100% win ratio in the group stages. He also received an award for Player Of The Tournament in Junior Team Category.

Phil also took part in the Junior (U18's) singles event. He was on cue to reach the semi-finals were unfortunately he lost to Maltese player Lyden Debono 6-4. Lyden went onto play Phil's team captain, Steve Petty in the final but Steve was too strong and won 7-1.

In the Under 21 final England faced off against a very strong Ireland side, with neither side giving way the first 12 frames were shared. Rob went on 13th and put in an eye catching display to England on the brink of victory in the race to eight. Captain Liam White duly obliged in the very next frame making it 8 - 6 to England. Rob won nine out of eleven frames during the tournament giving him an impressive 82% win ratio.

Rob also took part in senior singles, but unfortunately got beaten 7-6 by a Channel Islands player.
